We are looking for a highly skilled craftsman to help us out with building Lamborghini Countach replicas (and some other very exciting projects in the pipeline) These are complex tube chassis builds, full aluminium bodies and aluminium panels, with of course lots of extras and ancillaries along the way.
We are offering a full time position in our growing shop for a highly skilled craftsman. These are 150k hand built replicas we are producing, not kit cars in a shed. I am looking for the right candidate to help us complete these projects.
Minimum requirements:
10 years plus experience in fabrication, TIG welding aluminium, Stainless and mild steel.
You will need to be experienced in operating folders, rollers (sheet metal and profiles), English wheel, planisher, tube bender, tube notcher, TIG welder, grinding and polishing equipment, as well as saws, drills, hand tools etc.
Fabrication experience in tube chassis, compound curve panels and exhausts a must. This is not a hood down and weld kind of job, it is highly technical and precise.
Panel beating experience, automotive, or similar a clear advantage.
Relevant qualifications such as time served apprenticeships an advantage, but not essential for highly experienced candidates.
Daily duties will include cutting, laying out and fabrication of parts to a mixture of CAD drawings, verbal instruction and copy of existing parts. TIG welding, fettling, fitting and material prep. Our team takes pride in it’s openness to helping one another out and as such there may be times you will be working on other projects as and when required, as well as offering training and advice to other team members.
Must be able to work under own initiative, read drawings and match existing bodywork.
Applicants subject to verified references and trade test.
Own transport to our shop Peterborough as well as a good comprehension of English.
Great PAYE rate for this area, £16ph neg starting rate.
